Featuring Organic Tie Dyed Romper & Silk Square.

Sugs’ (pronounced like sugar) has been a nickname of mine for nearly 23 years. My husband dubbed me Sugs when we were in high school and it stuck with me clearly.

Sugs’ Shoppe is a one woman show, I design bags, accessories and clothing. I also hand tie dye a variety of items throughout my Shoppe. I pride myself on size inclusive designs, custom orders and the usage of reclaimed, recycled, organic and secondhand materials throughout all of my products.

Thanks for stopping by!

To My Soul Sister

Thick brown curls, draped graciously over laced shoulders, your grandmother’s earrings glistening in the Texas sun. Welled tears filling your chestnut eyes, I may not be there standing next to you, but I’ve imagined it over and over for months.

My dearest friend, soul sister, we may believe that we are cut from different cloths and the reality is, that we live across the country from one another. I have found though, that our cloths have such similarities, that perhaps they are indeed the same

Both woven tightly by our pasts, patches covering holes and tears. With strings of glistening gold dancing like our Latina origins. We have the fiery scarlet strands that weave heavily through, ‘tis our spicy nature showing face. The spice that screams when either of us have been wronged, it screams until justice has been served. Cooling jade grounds us, intertwined with the chaotic gold and scarlet hues, it’s earthly cast reminds us that there is understanding, patience and forgiveness. Charcoal, fine fibers delicately braided throughout allude to the darkest of moments and how we rose from those ashes - often times mentally united. The whitest of whites, intertwined, reminds us of our intentions, the purity of our love and acceptance of those around us. A multitude of colors, a variety of silky and rough strands, collectively create our unique cloth of sisterhood, one that will continue to evolve and strengthen as time goes on.

Today, in my absence, I wrap you in my cloth, may the similarities give you comfort. Hold you tightly, wiping your tears, reminding you of how beautiful you are, calming your nerves, instilling that you are a fighter, an incredible mother, wife and friend.

With Love,

Your Soul Sister Tami Elizabeth
